Yup ;)

I preferred the twin stacks of the QE to the 3 of the Mary to be honest (there's always one) Saw both as a kid when holidaying on the IOW. The guest house we stayed at was run and owned by the sister of Sir Christopher Cockerell. Remember the place awash with phots of hovercraft :)

Agree with you on QE2. She looked modern 'then' but her design was such that she still looks the business today. Nothing since has come close to matching her unrivaled looks

It'll be like that Ex-Soviet Aircraft Carrier than the Chinese bought to be a floating hotel and casino, that suddenly got refitted and became China's first Aircraft Carrier.

It'll become the SS Mao and take Chinese millionaires around the Eastern Pacific.

It's uncannily like the end of the original Queen Elizabeth, being towed to Hong Kong for a refit and then suffering a suspicious fire. It sank in the harbour where it rusted away and the owners walked away with an insurance payout.

Would the same plan work twice?

Referring to languishing I presume?

*-) my grandfather would have something to say about that!

I've seen Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA while serving a tour in the US
Army... It's a sight to see for sure.

No time to board her sorry to say.
