What a superb piece of software. I'd intended to buy this as soon as it was released but I can no longer use my joystick due to it causing me discomfort so all I can do is admire it.

I'm going to try and find different ways of flying the sim to see if I can get a bit more flying in because I'm really going to miss it in the winter.

If I can crack it this will be my first purchase. Well done ORBX.

Anybody else bought it yet?

Ian :)

Ian, I'm not sure if this helps:-

Its a normal adjustable computer chair with arms...The stick is held very firmly by a twice wrapped bungee with hooks and it sits in the metal tray drawer that pulls out from under the computer bench.

Anyway, it makes for a super-relaxed stick operation...In fact in Flight, which has no autopilot, I often go downstairs for tea and bun, leaving it nicely in trim! :)

Yes, Ilike them too!...The previous owner put them there many years ago

BTW...I have just noticed that iPad photos make me left handed, which I am not!

Thanks, Peter. My problem isn't the hardware - it's me. I'm no longer able to use my right arm in that position as the tumours down my right side object and start causing me pain.

I'm managing better at the computer by using the mouse with my left hand and letting my right arm rest. I should be able to teach myself to use my left hand for the joystick - after all Airbus Captains manage it (not always successfully  ). Unfortunately my desk has the knee cutout on the wrong side so that's not ideal at the moment. My heart's not in it just now but when the weather turns bad I'll have a crack at it.

Ian :)

Ian, ?

There are controllers now that use the eyes of the gamer.
Based in London.

But, perhaps if you're getting along with the mouse, you'd stay with that.

Peter thanks for the HU, I just need a good pc to appreciate it fully.

Still haven't upgraded the camera yet.

Yes Ian...I never quite liked having to use the yoke with my left hand in BA, when I got my command...However, you do get used to it even though it never feels quite right...Many years ago my brother used to shoot pistol for the county team...He damaged his right hand and taught himself to shoot left handed. He did so well that he never lost his place in the team. Many more years ago my mother (aged 50) had a stroke that paralysed her down one side and rendered her speechless...When she left hospital to slowly recover, she taught herself to write letters, to me in Kenya, with the other hand and they became more and more legible. :)

BTW...When my mother had recovered some more, she started a new career in the members' tea room in the House of Commons and when she retired many years later (like most ladies, she had lied about her age) she was awarded the B.E.M. She was presented with the medal in the Speaker's House and he told her that this was the very first duty that he had performed on behalf of the Queen :agree:

Not bought it yet Ian but will definitely do so when I get more opportunity to play. There's a patch due shortly to enhance the night lighting further and to provide specific land class to cure some green deserts in the US. Currently I'm messing around trying to get the Estonian FSX to P3D migrator tool to work properly (seems to think there's already a redirect to P3D so won't play at the minute).

Regards,
Chris
