I don't think you'll regret it Peter, it's a cracking good model

Some nice G- reg paints appearing for it too.

Oh you lucky, lucky boys. How I'd dearly love to have this model. I look forward to hearing more about it - and eventually some videos, perhaps, Peter. Although I suspect you'll be too busy enjoying yourself for a few weeks

Ian :)

Well I had huge problems with getting the aircraft to load in P3D...Then tried it in FSX...Same problem but Iwas at least abel to see and note the error from the opening screen before it went to Full Screen Mode...The error is:

C172_Illumination Bitmap Error 984

The offending dll file is in the Panel folder and after i disabled C172_Illumination.dll by renaming it with a ".dis" on the end of it, the aircraft now loads in both FSX and P3D. However that took all day and I have not had time to do anything with it yet...Bloody nuisance...I even downloaded it again using a different browser but it was just the same file and same result. I don't know why they can't find this sort of thing in testing before they release it!

I'll try to fly it tomorrow :worried:

Peter, this is an XP-specific issue.

The fix can be found here -

http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 08&t=35640

Under "CRASHES or CTDs", it's item #3.

Colin :hello:
Many thanks, d/l and unzipped. Will fly it in its new paint today.

I'll also have to get some of the G regs that our mate Dave pointed out, so I don't get shot down over the Isle of Man!

Peter - thanks for the heads up on this one - it's a treat. A bit demanding on the pitch axis but otherwise great fun!

Another bit of icing on the cake for this one; when the engine is cranked or stopped, the torque effect makes the wings wobble. I've checked this on the MS default C172, but could not see that effect. I've managed to record an avi file of it, but am still learning about such recordings, and haven't been able to edit it down to an acceptable upload yet.

Just FYI, the first update to the Cessna has been released. It can be found in the A2A C-172 Technical Support forum. It fixes some issues with the brake sticking and adds a new slider that allows you to "soften" the elevator sensitivity to fit your liking without affecting the actual flight model. The system basically allows you to "curve" the axis like with the registered version of FSUIPC for people who don't use FSUIPC and don't want to mess with changing sensitivity whenever they fly this plane versus others.
