Fokker F27

Post by TSR2 »

Just at Newcastle airport and there is a little F.27 parked up on the far side, opposite the terminal. Haven't seen one in a while, and cant make out the reg. Are there any left on the UK register?

Hi Ben :hello:
According to my search just now, there are no currently registered UK F27s. There's a list of 82 which have been deregistered, some with photos, including one at least ex Air UK.
Sounds like your sighting may be there to stay?

I live in Cramlington (for those not in the know just to the North of Newcastle) and I'm a massive F27 fan. From where you say it's parked, it sounds like it's only visible airside? Shame as my instinct is telling me to jump straight into the car an have a look!

I'm not sure if you could make it out from the road mate. Its white with a blue tail, no markings i could see. Its parked up with the bizjets, so not sure if that's visible from the road.

Sounds doubtful but, what the hell, it'll only take a few minutes to get down there, might as well have a look. I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi mate. Sounds like Farn Air. Hungarian freighters. One came into Manchester a couple of years ago whilst I was on nights.
