An FSX Scimitar

Post by rohan »

Don't know if anyone here needs an FSX Scimitar, but Michael Pook has just uploaded his "FSX update" of the Scimitar by Kazunori Ito to Simviation. Personally, I'm rather wary about these updates for FSX given the history of some of the people who upload them and the quality of some of their work, though to be fair, I've never even looked at anything done by Mr. Pook so cannot comment on his work specifically.

Anyway, Mr. Ito does do splendid work with his modelling while his FDEs do leave something to be desired. Without checking my records, I'm not sure whether anyone has done an FDE update for this plane, but this FSX update doesn't say anything about an FDE change - just the usual panel / gauge changes.

So there you have it, if you want it ... I'll be checking my records tomorrow and maybe take a closer look at this upload then. Hope that helps,
Ro

There was an alternate FDE for this Scimitar in FS9 at what is now BritSim (then CBF). I think it's still there as it can be found by the search facility, but the link just cycles you back to the file category list. I'm not sure whether this is a problem that Rob hasn't yet fixed as part of the rebuild, or if it's an individual glitch that hasn't been noticed before ...
