DC3 training flights

Post by Effoh »

Morning chaps,

The training flights departure aerodromes don't seem to match with the designated DC3 bases, meaning there's no aircraft available to fly. Operator error on my part?

Hi Colin :hello:

No.. not an error on your part. There are 2 scenarios.. one of which is most certainly responsible for this happening.
1) The DC3's have multiple bases so it's possible one of the training fleet (any DC3 available at the training base) has been flown to another base and left there or..
2) A DC3 has been left off station.

I've not had my whip out for a while to get off-sta aircraft put back on-sta but in the meanwhile.. let me know where you want a DC3 to be and I'll transfer it. It'll take as long as the flight would take but it'll be yours on completion.

Hi Dave :hello:

Thanks for the ever speedy response - can you stick one at EGCC and I'll do the 6 TRs and leave it back there.

Ta

Hi Colin :hello:

Rgr that. You only need to do 4 flights btw as you're already a qualified pilot.. albeit rated on other aircraft ;)

EDIT: Colin.. there is a 3rd scenario.. it looks like no DC3's have EGCC as a base which is odd as that's where the training flights go from :wall: Fear not though.. AMYJ is enroute from Liverpool (the nearest airport) and should be at EGCC before Midday today ;)

Thanks Dave,

Will do the 6 and then at least there'll be an airframe at EGCC if anyone else needs it.

Doing the 6 training flights will make no difference at all mate as they all return to EGCC. Just do the 4 then give me a bell here and I'll allocate a full rating. If you wish to leave the aircraft at Manchester, you can buy a ticket to Liverpool (the nearest base) or to any of the other bases as you desire. As EGCC isn't listed as a base, AMYJ will flag as off station if you leave it there but that in itself may be a good thing as no one else should take it ;)
