Hi Dale
You have training rating on the L1011 200. Training goes from EGLL.

Have you got the CIVA INS system, very representative of the era?

My TR training on Concorde is going well, managed to keep her below 250 knots up to FL100 (BTW is it FL100 or 10,000 feet that the client checks on?)

I do have to say I don't like the Bahrain run, it is so fuel critical, the aircraft is on fumes at the end of it due to the lengthy subsonic time but hey ho, that route is complete, New York tomorrow.

Thanks for the update Ady.. glad to hear things are going well

Re FL100/10000ft.. I've never felt comfortable 'opening up' until I've climbed a few hundred feet (at least) above that level. Likewise, in the descent.. I've always been at 250kias (usually 240+ kias) quite a distance before cracking FL100.. the uncertainty about whether it is 10,000ft AGL or ASL never leaving me. I honestly can't remember now if it's ASL or AGL but that should be in the A to Z tutorial. I'm sure I've been pinged before for not having my landing lights on below 1000ft when I was in fact much higher than that ASL while crossing a mountain range. OK.. you would normally have a lot of clearance but the Viking I was in at the time doesn't climb like a jet and I was struggling for altitude  I tried it again though can't remember if I went around the mountains the next time or went for a climbing hold. I probably went around them knowing me

Hi Adrian
Yes its the Civa ins which is installed in most of the a/c I fly
Its a more realistic gauge than most of the offerings that come preinstalled
If I can't integrate it into a panel, I'll just create another widow and have it as a pop up

Dave,

Now having joined the great ranks of the retired I will have some more time for simming. Can you set me up for a TR on the DC3 please
Simon
