Though you might enjoy this link at Vintage Wings of Canada: A Terrifying Beauty – the Art of Piotr Forkasiewicz

The article includes some moving accounts of losses suffered by Bomber Command Lancs. The accompanying artwork - made using a CG model of the Lanc - is quite remarkable and kept me engrossed as my cup of tea grew cold! Here's a single example:

Lots more incredibly powerful images at the link above, along with some more technical pictures of the same project at the CG Society website. Now, I wonder if we'll ever be able to fly something like this in a home PC sim: there's a rather nice 'virtual cockpit' towards the end of the article! (Yeah - I can dream! ;))

Fantastic, nice to see that 3D model to rendering process used for something of my taste! Thanks for posting.
