Just to be clear, the stated range is based on 1,200 miles out, 4 hours on station, and then 1,200 miles back..
Ah.. that makes more sense. I've not read up on the Poseidon so 1,200miles seemed more than a bit ridiculous

BTW.. I think engineers here would agree that Boeing are good aircraft to work on.. I've heard as much from the Vanguard team at Brooklands. I don't think any of our 'late' airliners were designed with ease of maintenance in mind.. especially the bent nail!

Cheers CT ;)

I had a quick look at the one in UK a couple of weeks back.
Very nice and purposeful , now it's a wonder Ryanair don't want to replace the rear hold on theirs with bomb door...
here's the baggage you have to sort it yourself :)

Flippancy aside, as CT says, has more in common with a BBJ than straight 737.

Oh, I almost forgot - I wish Boeing would put the fuel panel they have on the P-8 into all of their BBJs. I fuel as many BBJs as anything else at my work and the P-8 panel is a thing of beauty being simple and functional while still having the goodies of a modern airplane.

Joe:".....Or was that you drifting off ?
:worried:"

I get sleepy at that time of night, having eaten my supper AND the one Mrs Airspeed keeps making for you. I tell her it's just the TV aerial rattling, but she thinks it's your bike. 8)
Cheers, Mike.

The plot thickens - this is from the Daily Telegraph:

Battle to win £2bn deal to replace Britain's Nimrod spy planes

The pictures of the broken-up MR4's are rather sad. The photos of their most likely replacement will make Ben sad.

Almost time to get that PMDG paintkit out :)
