Funnily enough I was never that bothered with Concorde when she was 'alive'. But now as the sole ambassador of preserved civil airliners who exist in the mind of the 'ordinary' person on the street, I applaud anything that keeps that collective memory alive. Ask a non-aviation fan what a Comet is and they won't have a clue, even though thousands more flew on them than Concorde! Personally, I think the Comet is far more graceful (and historically important in a wider aviation history context) than Concorde... :hide:

I think Auntie Beeb is short of things to write about again. They're obviously unaware of the other 4 Concorde at Filton, Yeovilton, Brooklands and East Fortune 8)

Must be some high quality engineering that came out of Filton in the 60's... I'm certain that if I don't use my, er, systems for 37 years, they won't be "in a perfectly serviceable condition". I fear excessive droop will be the key issue - not restoring it! ;)

Cheers,
Nick

I agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment. Same with the MD11, it seems (in my feeble mind) only yesterday the thing was coming into service, now I read the last passenger service is being withdrawn. Ugly looking thing the MD11 is but then so is the An2 and I love that too.
