BAe 146-200 G-OLCB (E2103) in July 1988. I have a video clip of it somewhere.

The aircraft landed with 20kt crosswind. Back in those days, about a year after the airport opened, the runway was shorter than today, without the loop at the east end or the extended areas at the west end. Scheduled services with the 146 at LCY didn't commence until 1992 with Crossair. When the A318 first first trialled at LCY, I believe its tail stuck out into the taxiway, so the built the new apron on the east side of the terminal with larger parking spaces by reclaiming some more of the dock.

Worth noting that the approach into LCY is 5.5deg as opposed to the more normal 3.3deg. The DHC-7s that were originally used came in at the even steeper angle of 7.5deg.

One other interesting operational point is that on departure, the throttles are normally brought up with the wheel brakes still applied until the engine reaches a certain level at which point the brakes are released. I have a clip of that I recorded myself if anyone's interested.

They used to power build on the brakes at Guernsey with 737-200, BAC One-Elevens and Fokker F.28. Also Viscounts if they didn't do a rolling start.

The F-28 and One-Elevens were deafening.
