I can see these radars getting banned are they are making big trouble over nothing. I wonder what these idiots would say if they were being monitored at work and every little issue was published live Worldwide.

4.09pm "As you can see, it's close to west coast of Scotland at the moment."

Blimey, just 17,000 ft eh ? All it would take is a moment's lack of concentration, one slight twitch on the controls and BANG - 16,900 ft.

Tomorrow's headline:
STREAKING SILVER STRICKEN IN SCOTLAND
Any combat pilots would be excused for having a chuckle about the use of "stricken" in those reports.

Re: Flight Radar Stupidity again
I very much doubt that this was a cabin pressure problem if the passengers were unaware of any problem until publicly addressed about it. The drop down oxygen would have activated and there would have been a very rapid descent to say FL140. In any event , a significant rise in cabin altitude nearly always produces earache for a significant proportion of people . If the captain had an oxygen mask on, it sounds more like smoke in the cockpit, and this is far more consistent with the maintenance of the emergency until the arrival back at EGLL : a pressurisation failure would not justify all other traffic being held

Yes I expect it was another of those oil fumes thingies but in that case I would have expected both pilots to be wearing masks.

Re: Flight Radar Stupidity again
I realize I've been out of the industry for quite a while, so I'm amazed to learn that Boeing have introduced a separately pressurized cockpit into the T7.
"A passenger has told the Mirror how this afternoon's dramatic emergency was caused by a loss of pressure in the cockpit which left the pilot using an oxygen mask".
"They had lost cabin pressure and they were worried it might spread down the plane".
As you say Garry "stupidity"..seems they will do anything for a story!!.
