Thanks for the best wishes chaps. Very welcome and much appreciated.
I can report that I am on the mend at last from the latest lurgy, and just dodged going into the hangar.
Out of the blue, I was prescribed medication for my diabetes. Didn't think owt of it, but started to suffer from shortage of breath and after a load of prodding and poking was referred for a CT Scan which is due on Monday (only took 5 weeks).
At the hospital for something else entirely, the Macmillan nurse asked about my breathing, and was I taking any new medication - yes - ah, well it's that which is causing it.
Promptly stopped taking the damned tablets and have been slowly improving. Been a long haul, but I am about back to what is normal for me. Must admit it has been quite scary at times.
Once again, many thanks chaps.

Glad to hear you're on the mend. Wouldn't be the first time a nurse knew better about the meds than the quacks!
When SWMBO was in getting a new hip in April, the biggest problems she encountered were with the docs swapping meds - without clear thought or apparent understanding of the consequences.
She's popping back in for the other one on Monday. Gawd help any doc who crosses her now she has an idea of what they're up to!
Side effects of various pills can be quite devastating...had to stop my anti gout pills because I started getting a skin rash that can apparently be life threatening. Waiting now to see if there is an alternative when I go to see Doc next month.
Anyway very glad to hear you are on the mend.
