You'll probably have a long wait then.

I've tweaked the Dove exterior MDL files to try and lessen / remove the shine discrepancy mainly between the fin and rudder, but in other places too. I think JF/AH intended the rudder to have a distinct "fabric" look, but IMHO it didn't come off well.
In addition, some of the material settings varied across the model ( and even across different models) such as the ailerons, which are on different texture maps, with different material settings. The alpha channel on some of the bump maps is darker than others, which leads to odd shading issues. When I was painting British Eagle I couldn't get the upper nose to match with the front fuselage, despite being exactly the same colour. Turned out the bump map was the problem. Once that was corrected the parts matched.

Have moved on to the Sea Devon. A couple of Admiral's barges are in order! First one XK895 as when based at HMS Daedalus. Have got to put up with one white cockpit roof aerial and one green, as the right aerial is texture mapped to the right upper wing root(took me over an hour to find that out!). A green aerial seems preferable to a white bar on the upper right wing root.

Have got to work on stencilling now, after correcting the wing roundel sizes and positioning and adding the underwing serials. Why are AH so poor at putting serials under wings? they even omitted the D-INKA one!!

Hi Peter :hello:

Very few AH models have underwing serials and I can't for the life of me understand why :dunno: Could be the 'lack of attention to detail' you mentioned elsewhere

Looking forward to the barges mate

I used the alternative one (for whatever reason) first and it works like a charm! Thanks!
