 Peter
My only experience on the Dove was three flights with CAFU to get my Civilian Instrument Rating in 1964...It took me three goes to get a Pass!...Two goes in G-ANOV and one in G-ALVS. Those three flights were also my first in a piston engined twin. I was so elated with my final pass that I drove fast and furiously in my XK150 from Stanstead to my home in North London...Bloody nearly killed myself on the way and that slowed me to a sensible speed for the rest of the way!

For many years have been flying the great Derek Palmer (et al) Dove from cbfs with its great externals and 2d but frustrated by lack of vc. Excited when the AH model came out , particularly its great vc. Why is there always a price to pay? In this case the textures- particularly the Devon-roundels etc.

Enter MilesMan - thank you so much for VP 967- a really excellent paint. At last nirvana.

As a baby boomer and an ATC cadet in the sixties spent some mid teens school holidays hitch hiking around RAF stations (we had some in those days) blagging rides in the rear of anything that had a rear (we also had a few aircraft in those days). On a notable visit to Northolt self and mate managed to persuade the station commander to take time off from his paperwork for a 2 hour jolly in a Devon. A great experience and (I guess) well beyond anything available to our equivalents today.

Hi Peter :hello:
You DID have powers of persuasion!
I was in 14F Squadron AT Northolt, and we were never offered a ride in anything.
Even on parade under the wing of Hercules, we weren't allowed to touch it!

The only one we did touch was a burnt out Meteor airframe at the London end of the airfield. :(

EDIT: I bought this Dove/Devon on the half price special, but can't install it.
I'm told that the code is wrong, and have no cure from JF or PCA... 8) :|
EDIT2: They said have another go, you mug (or words to that effect) and it worked. :-O :dunno:

Can anyone tell me if the Dove is an online registration with Just Flight after purchase i.e. you have to be connected to the internet to install?

Or is there another way of buying and installing without the need for internet connection?

If not then I will have to wait another six months until I get me state pension.!! :(

Oh Dammit!! I believe it is paid in arrears :wall: so make that seven months then add another month for connection and then maybe I might just be on-line for the Xmas Sales!! 8)

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel

I bought mine from PC Aviator (thanks Dave :wall: ) and the installation process only asked for the serial number, not my email as JF things usually do. I don't know if that information is checked online in the background, but it doesn't seem so.
