Or let it fly on and nose dive into a nuclear power station ?

And if it gets shot down and lands on a densely populated area?

Did it again, football, football, football, then further down, a report of passengers checking Google to see why they were being escorted.
Cheers, Mike.

Perhaps it's 'cos you are upside down Mike? Or maybe antipodean web links operate differently :hide:

Guys , They have to go fast these days ............when RAF Wattisham handed in the F4s , and went over to Brown Job rotaries , the only fighter station close to London is way , way , North at Coningsby . We had more air defence back in the 30s and the ADGB [ Air Defence of Great Britain ] , before the 1936 expansion .
Eastern Med in late '70s , we were doing M.80 and 8 miles per min [ fuel conserve on a Tel Aviv - LHR in a T2 ] . Concorde was clear of land over the Med [ Bahrain - LHR ]and doing M2.0+ or so , and 22 miles per minute by our reckoning . So an overtake of 14 mile per min , in level flight.
How long does it take to decide to launch the QRA , light 'em up , launch , climb , and then have a minimum of 150 miles to get to [ say ] the London area , where the the threat might be ? And the threat may be moving away from the QRA at a good lick .
Quite a challenging scenario , so hats off to the boys in Blue .

rgds dave f................100 miles from London ! Although on a clear day there are Nuc. facilities in view .
