Yikes RAF just got those planes and already completed 25k of hours of flights?have completed over 1400 sorties totalling more than 25,000 hours in direct support of operations.
Anyway, SkippyBing, thanks for cool link. What I mean by operations is that did those planes ever participate in any war? DaveB said no.

Well.. a 'war'.. as in a bonafide 'declared' war (you mentioned the Falklands and both Gulf Wars).. no.. not in our hands anyway but they've been used extensively on 'Live' operations since their introduction. It's probably true to say that we've benefited from intel gathered by our American cousins using this aircraft for some time

It interests me how much better ( to me ) the 707 looks when fitted with modern large diameter engines . It's fair to say, however, that I never liked the original rather ugly pylon design with that horizontal ridge running along the top of the nacelle
