P3D particle shader breaks the FSX afterburner effects...

Those are the FMAI FS9 models which I converted to native FSX format. The MAIW crew wants to convert their old FS9 AI packages so they can work in P3Dv4. The HTAI C-130's and JBAI P-3's are already available in native FSX format.

Well, PC is rebuilt, VFR Scenery Added, FSX Power Project Added, North East Landmarks added, VFR Objects added, Newcastle Bridges added (but I'm missing some, so may be me. Next is my UK 2000 stuff. So far so good. No aircraft added at this stake, so just using the F35.

Can I ask, I have REX Texture Direct, but is there any point adding it with v4 (this is someone who hasn't really used a sim in 2 years.) Is ActiveSky the best weather option?

Yes, REX Texture Direct is definitely still worth it.

I highly recommend OpusFSI as a weather engine (and a lot more besides). I used to use other payware weather engines in the past but settled on Opus and have never looked back...

Ben, be careful with some of the UK2000 airports, they use FS9 code in places which will crash the sim. Gary Summons recommends removing any bgls with "FS9", "animate" or "timer" in the file name. Also I found Heathrow still caused a crash until I disabled "EGLL_Specials.bgl" as well.

Thanks DG, you beat me to it. I just added VFR airfields 1, 2 and 3 and that's exactly what happened. To be fair to Gary, he does say they aren't compatible with V4 on his site, but I thought I'd take a punt. Will try renaming the files suggested and see if its any good. :cpu:

Hi Guys, renaming those files seems to work for the individual airports. I've tried with Heathrow, London City, Gatwick, Leeds, Doncaster, East Mids, Newcastle, Aldergrove and Edinburgh and they all seem fine.
