Tom Petty Passed Away Today

Post by airboatr »

Always liked his music.

There are some interesting planes in the video, but the song really wasn't about flying now was it.
;)

Condolences to his family and friends.

Refuge was always one of my favorites.

Very sorry to hear he passed, RIP Tom!

The early news told us that, this morning, but a later edition corrected it to...suffered a cardiac arrest and was on life support.
I'd better check the latest.
EDIT...Yes, it's confirmed. R.I.P.

Knew the name, but can't say I ever listened to him much. My loss, no doubt. Good video, Joe, thanks for posting.

RIP Tom.

Another sad loss, I liked Tom Petty. His 'Into the Great Wide Open' album was a favourite of mine when I was an active kite flier. I had different aerial ballet routines I would fly to each track. I would put that album on my MP3 player grab the kite lines (either two or four line stunt kites) and lose myself for 45 minutes in total bliss, just me, the wind, the kite and the music ..... magic!

Now I am disabled I can't fly anymore but maybe I will pull out that CD and remember old times today.

I particularly remember him as one of the Travelling Wilburys.

End of the Line - The Travelling Wilburys: https://youtu.be/cwqhdRs4jyA

It would be hard to get a more illustrious line up than this. Unfortunately Lefty Wilbury (Roy Orbison) died before the filming of this video.

Very sad news and much too young.

I always liked Tom Petty's music, both with The Heartbreakers and also The Travelling Wilburys (what a line up that was!)

Thanks for all the great music, Tom. RIP
