Many thanks for all your comments gents.

At least I got the local paper interested: -

http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... -1-8480891

No response at all from the Daily Mail to a request to revisit this.

Most MPs are not interested - "Not my constituent" - "Data protection" et al.His own MP hasn't even bothered to reply.

Home Office will endeavour to reply within 20 days, some help that is.

Nigel, there was a petition at the time of the last Mail story.

I believe ITV were going to visit the family, but don't know if that came off.

Again, thanks chaps.

Have they contacted SSAFA?

Serving or ex forces are eligible.

While it might not be something they can deal directly with, it has a lot of contacts.

Hi Graham,
I've often thought about this.
Would you be so kind as to give us an update?

Sorry Mike, should have done this before.

Initially, the children were granted leave to stay. With all the stress Ray's wife had a spell hospitalised, since recovered helped no doubt by the fact that they finally relented and they are all now allowed to stay.

Why they were ever put through this experience beats me.

Anyway, all is now satisfctorily resolved.

Many thanks for asking, and my apologies for not providing the update sooner.

Did the Daily Fail ever come back on this. They are a shit paper and apparently. although I don't approve of everything he says or does, Branson has taken a lead on how to deal with them

Nary a peep out of 'em Simon, nor the MPs or Home Office.
