Doc Jolly RIP

Post by Motormouse »

Slightly off the normal topics...
Doc Jolly, of the Red and Green life machine, Ajax Bay, 1982, has passed away.

oh, and if you watch the you tube clips in the pprune thread above, in the one clip is one of my school pals, with both arms in bandages.

The only man in the Falklands war to be decorated by both Britain and Argentina. What a remarkable fellow.

Should have got more recognition for his impromptu duty as a 'winch weight' rescuing 2 sailors from HMS Ardent, winched down with no lifejacket of his own, no immersion suit, into freezing water..

RIP Sir

Roger.

No idea who picked me out of the water
Can remember a surreal helicopter slowly spinning at the other end of a cable
Then i woke up on Uganda covered from head to foot in white cream/paste and i think cling film on top or polythene.

Seem to remember being on a carrier deck initially for an assesment but was in and out
At that stage.

Pardre tried to give me last rights and i gave him a short sex and travel instruction.

Tried to light a fag but got told off ( still lit it)

Not a day i like to celebrate much 12th June :-#
