Hats off to you, Rick!
Was previously unaware of your contribution to defence of the Realm.
You just scored some extra points with me.

Re: Doc Jolly RIP
I agree with Mike. I already held you in the highest regard because of the amazing aircraft you created. That you have such a distinguished war service takes it to another level.
Joe Cusick,

Thanks for that Pete. I wondered whether it was Glamorgan from the date Rick gave but didn't want to presume.Motormouse wrote: ↑19 Jan 2018, 12:46Paul, here's a link --http://www.hmsglamorgan.co.uk/html/12_june_2.html

One of my classmates from South Shields Marine&Tech died aboard Sir Galahad. It all seems so long ago, but I daresay that for some it's still there every time they close their eyes at night.

Re: Doc Jolly RIP
Nothing distinguished about my service
Lost my best mate in the blast and almost lost me.
I wish i hadnt gone as im only just coming to terms with it all
Has nearly been my demise more than once.
We owe it to all those that didnt return not to forget.

I can partly understand your difficulty in coming to terms with it all, Rick.
As usual, though, here we have a person who did something, but plays down their part.
You may not have saved 1,000 men from a burning deck, but you did what was asked of you in a *##* situation; for that, you have our gratitude, and score those bonus points.
