Good day all,
First of all if this is in the wrong forum mods please move. I wondered if any one would be able to help I have built a 2d panel to replicate the virtual cockpit. (As so many payware aircraft only come with a virtual cockpit really annoys but that a different topic lol).
Progress so far if anyone is interested
Virtual
2D
I would now like to sort out the RPM Gauge as the current one realy doesn't match.
Current
One I would lIke to use
The trouble is the first one has two needles the second one one only. No big deal I though changed the background bmp and original needles look fine. However the trouble I have is the rpm indicated are in different locations on the new bmp so it doesn't read correctly. I have tried fiddling around with code (through panel editor) however I don't really understand it so would anyone be able to provide some advice.
Many thanks
Matt

Re: Gauge Design Help
Not had much experience with 2d dial gauges myself. 3d ones are much easier!
I'd probably just try and find an existing matching gauge from somewhere. Failing that, I'd have a go at repainting the current one to match the new one, using the existing calibration.

Hi Matt,
I'm no use to you on this topic, but I'm intrigued as to why you want a 2D panel at all; is it due to fps issues?

Re: Gauge Design Help
If the registration is correct, it was a Cessna 210-5(205), but is now de-registered.
Re: Gauge Design Help
lol that was a good spot but Its for a PA-31. I still use 2d panels as I have a two screen set up I have a large screen which I either have virtual or just forward facing and below that is where the 2 panel sits (photo below). Hence why I like the 2 panel so match. Plus having been on flight sim since FS95 there is still part of me that likes to 2d Panels. Takes me back to when I was dispatcher at EGKK in earlier 90s. Also I am enjoying learning tinkering with the panels and paintshop.

Re: Gauge Design Help
PS sorry it is not classic British flight sim aircraft but just wanted to ask here first where there a people I respect and admire for their work rather than a general fs developer forum.
