Unexpected Noratlas Sighting
Returning through France from Spain to the UK recently we had the unexpected pleasure of seeing a Noratlas being thrown around the sky at a small airfield at Issoire about 30 miles or so South of Clermont-Ferrand. Sadly I was driving so wasn't able to get a photo and although we had a scheduled stop at more or less the same place by the time we did stop the aircraft had had its fun and was headed North.
It was notable for being such an unexpected pleasure - a beautiful aircraft being well flown on a lovely sunny day.

Blimey, I didn't even know they were still around!

That would have been well worth seeing as well as hearing it’s engines! EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!

Brings back memories of when I lived on the approach to Northolt as a child. They were flown a bit more sedately though.

I imagine it was this one:

Also, there's a very good freeware one for FSX by Jean-Francois Martin and Gilbert Millas, available at all the usual outlets.

There's a lovely video of this Noratlas here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIJktHo89-8
The aircraft is operated by 'Le Noratlas de Provence', see here: https://noratlas-de-provence.com/ (they don't do an English site unfortunately)

Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

Great video, thanks for that. It'd be nice to see her visit the UK.
Re: Unexpected Noratlas Sighting
Looks like they were using the FSX tire smoke effect.

I guess they've got enough spare tires!
