I was tootling from Teesside to Barton in the the X-Plane 11 Piper when I looked at the map and saw labels with 'Frigate' and 'Carrier' off the coast. Hoping for a True Earth Central Easter Egg (Ark Royal, Eagle, Centaur or Hermes would do ) I jumped into something a bit quicker and high-tailed to sea off Tynemouth. I've no idea why it would be there but this is out of the box X-Plane 11......
Actually, the Jaguar isn't OOB but Nimitz is.

Re: Surprise!
Good find Paul, at the moment I have been busy with other things that have kept me from flying but as soon as I am able to pick up my flight gear I will have to go a hunting.
BTW, did you try and land on the carrier or did you miss?!!
Regards
Nigel.

Re: Surprise!
I was in Tynemouth earlier for a rehearsal and I didn't see this! Someone remind me about real world/FS world and how it works?

Re: Surprise!
I stumbled across one in the Firth of Forth.....as I was in the DR400 at the time I had to give it a go

Re: Surprise!
I didn't try I'm afraid. At my skill level just keeping the Jaguar upright is enough of a challenge! If I'd still been in the Piper I might have given it a go like Tony did. That's quite an impressive level of detail in Tony's picture.
It's not a 'bird', it's an aeroplane or an aircraft
Re: Surprise!
That detail is very good isn't it? I haven't even yet tried to find the carrier, but when I do...............either I will make it or sink it !!!!I didn't try I'm afraid. Re: Surprise!
I flew the Aerolite 103 out to a carrier near Southampton yesterday. Reduced the throttle to land and despite still being airborne, the vessel began to pull away
A bird in the hand will probably sh!t on your wrist.
Re: Surprise!
I do believe that also happened to the Swordfishes as well when it was very windy!!
I tried to land on that carrier before 11.30 was released and fell promptly through it into the water!!
