True Earth GB South release for P3Dv4

Post by paulsl »

Here you go. I won't be bothering as I have this in X-Plane 11 but in the screenshots it looks just as good.

By all accounts it's a real frame rate killer, even on very high end PC's.

First time running was bad. I’ve set up as Orbx recommend, frame rates better but get stutters especially over London. Will fiddle with settings to see low I have to go to smooth it out.
Generally it’s good, up to date photo tiles and more consistent. I even found my house. The photo tile shows the Airlander at Cardington. Be good to have a 3D model positioned over it.

:( Bugger! I was going to get it this weekend. I'll hold off for now - thanks for the warning Dave.

I don't have it myself, only going by the posts over at Avsim. The worst area is apparently over London, which is no surprise.
Not sure if I'm going to get it yet, I'll probably wait a bit.

Yes, no surprise with the FPS problems over London - same as with the old FTX England region. I'll have a look at the Avsim thread, and maybe wait till I've upgraded my computer, which is due this year. :)

Bought it and binned it. Not impressed with frame rates or trees.

Shows the difference between P3D and XP I guess, as the frame rates in XP are great with True Earth.

Bought it

works great for me and my PC is old junk
Asus Sabretooth X58
12gb DDR2
i7 950x bloomfield LGA @ 3.8 ghz
Geforce GTX 970 4 gb.
1080i 39" TV as screen through hdmi
I get around 30 fps (locked at 30) apart from Central London
No real frame issues and sliders set where I think ORBX show you although they don't get name of sliders correct
for some reason in guide ???????? Great beta testing again. :hide:

just extremely disappointed in the POIs

My local area doesn't seem to have a single landmark that look remotely like the real ones do.
Orwell bridge is worse than my 13 year old effort.

Sizewell Nuclear power station not even present ???? and can be seen from Holland on a clear day

Shame the developers don't have a look at google earth or use beta testers that don't all live 5 minutes from Portsmouth. *-) :wall:
Great otherwise.

Binned it as well after flying a twenty minute flight. I am afraid in my opinion it just looked crap. Houses looked wrong and a block of flats near where I live that doesn't exist. Although it is summer textures colours seemed wrong. Framerates about 30.
