P3D45 Idiot Guide Req'd re XML files

Post by Vancouver »

I see that it is possible to add aircraft (and scnery and utilities) using XML files outside of the sim which is an assist to avoid having to reinstall everything should the sim need to be reinstalled. I saw a YT vid by Matt Davies but it kinda went over my head what he was doing there.

Does anyone have an idiot guide or where to find one which is a) easy to follow and b) very easy to follow.

i did manage to install a French a/c the Breguet 14 from http://restauravia.fr as they supplied a txt xml, however I am stumped as to how and where to place the effects and in future gauges (not necessary in this model)

Easiest way is to download AddonOrganizer from Lordy-Si here: http://www.lorby-si.com/downloads.html
It does all the hard work for you. :cpu:

Thanks for that I will give it a try. New site to me with lots of interesting little files. Wonder why it doesn't get more coverage?

Thanks again.

Ooops went to my download folder and the file wasn't there...... Defender reporting

Trojan:Win32/Spursint.F!cl

This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

Probably a false +ve, anyone else getting this with another Anti Virus checker?

No problems with it here, also using Defender. :dunno:

edit: I uploaded the file to an online checker, that scans it with 15 different scanners. All reported nothing found.

That is weird. So anyway I installed with gay abandon. The program works I just need now to understand what it is doing. :cpu: Ran the exe file for the program through Defender and it showed no issues.
