A gift from 1940
My daughter knows what I like!
She bought this for me.
The inscription which I've copied and inserted on the front cover, reads:
"To Alan/
Best Wishes April 14th 1941
From Auntie Peg & Uncle Reg"
Apart from being very annoyed at the sequence of the date, it's a nice addition to the library.
It features b&w photos and colour plates. Swordfish, Spitfire, Wellington, Skua, Wellesley, Battle, Sunderland, Hampden, Hart, Anson, Oxford, Osprey,Bulldog, Magister, Blenheim, Seafox, Stranraer, Southampton, Gladiator, Hurricane, Henley. Defiant, Lysander, Bombay, Beaufort, Queen Wasp,
all get some pictorial representation.

Re: A gift from 1940
They may have been American, Joe, would that explain it?
BTW, though it was given in 1941, it was printed 1940.

It's a book from when we had one.

Has this gone off topic?
