A reminder of days past; today I spotted a packet of McVitties' chocolate coated digestive biscuits, only to find that they were made in Turkey, "from local and imported ingredients".
McVitties not British? Is nothing sacred?

There's a name I've not heard in a dog's age! For my 13th birthday (1970) my parents scrimped and saved to put a deposit on a Coventry Eagle bicycle with the rest on the drip (HP). Metallic emerald green it was with 3 gears! Boy those gears made a difference in my 2.5 mile ride to and from school each day as it was uphill both ways, literally, as I had to cross a steep ridge between my house and the school!

Undoubtedly an old photo Larry!
When we went to buy bikes for the family some years back, I was very disappointed that they had done away with the tool bag, tools, pump, pump holding spikes, mudguards, and any clamps to hold lights. The dealer said people would only steal that stuff if it was fitted, but strangely had all those accessories available to buy, (except the tool bag).
