The things you see whilst flying.

Post by Molyned »

Whilst flying along the South coast of the U.K I spied this strange figure in Orbx U.K. scenery -
Image . The aircraft is the FS9/FSX Trago Mills SAH-1 Sprint trainer as modelled by me in 2015 (FlightSim.com).
A surprise object appeared below, it's the Chalk Man of Wilmington, approx 6 miles N.W. of Eastbourne . It's carved out of the chalk hillside and is 200ft tall. He's holding two staves, originally a hoe & rake. Its age is disputed, being either 3000 yrs old (!) or (more likely) 16th centuary.

Great screen capture, Dave. I remember seeing pictures of the Chalk Man as a youngster, been to Eastbourne but I remember seeing the Chalk Man. Thanks for sharing!

Well, well, I saw the chalk horse when I was young, but not this man. Thanks Dave!

Thanks folks. There is another chalk man about 200ft tall at Cerne Abbas. Although being very upstanding in the community, he's not really suitable for publication in a 'family' web site. :$
Cheers

I read in my latest issue of The Fortean Times that the Cerne Abbas Giant has had a recent 'clean up' to return him to his former glory!

I recently tried out the Just Flight southern UK scenery for P3DV4 and compared to ORBX it looks washed out, reminded me of FS9.

The reason I tried it is because ORBX England regularly pauses during flights. Anyone else get this?

Yes, I read that too! Great magazine, a must buy every month.

I was surprised to see it in the Horizon scenery:
