Flying Around Clench Common

Post by Nigel H-J »

Must keep an eye on ORBX Freeware Airports for X-Plane as only just found this nice small field to add to my collection. Already took advantage of their sale buy purchasing London City, East Midlands and Leeds Bradford but really nice to get the occasional free-ware product too!

Get it here:https://orbxdirect.com/product/eg20-xp11

Lining up

Ready for uphill take-off which means the landing will be interesting!!

Up, up, and away

Tight downwind circuit to give aerial view

Lining up for landing

Watching out for the telephone poles not to mention the trees directly in line with the runway!! which means a slightly higher approach then pulling back to land uphill

Just before touching down, surprising how quickly you have to flare!!

I spent Saturday flying to and fro from Compton Abbas to Clench Common.

Great fun

I think it's killed P3d for me though as its junk after XP11 :hide:

Rick

[Whispers] Totally agree. I only keep P3d installed to occasionally enjoy Mr. Richardson's terrific work.
It's not a 'bird', it's an aeroplane or an aircraft

Im waiting on FS2020 to make my final choice

XP11 was purchased and I bought the ORBX stuff while the sale is on ;) sadly 3 days before it went half price for the 3 parts of the UK.

Still cannot believe how many major landmarks ORBX didn't bother to include! shocking.
and gave up waiting for the Central & North parts in P3d as I don't think they are going to bother.

if that's as good as the videos show then its a no brainer for me and might get me kickstarted again with modelling.
Regards
Rick

Im waiting on FS2020 to make my final choice
I am also watching and waiting to see how MS2020 pans out however, on the initial release there will be no VR support until much later and no seasons which does not bother me as I am quite happy to fly in summer all the year round!! Call me a fair weather pilot if you like!

I will still stay with X-Plane 11 and even go for V12 should it ever come out as you are not having to pay a monthly fee which could be as much as three figures on an annual basis, also from what I have gleaned is that PMDG have dropped plans to build aircraft for X-Plane 11 and will be investing work into MS 2020 (not as though I have ever had PMDG). Also there are whispers that ORBX may be planning to build airports for MS but how would all that work for us in that platform? Would it be freely available for those who pay monthly or would there be a separate price to pay for any add-ons? :dunno:

So many questions and as yet no answers, that is why I will hold off until it has been out for at least six months before making a decision but one thing I do know is that X-Plane 11 or 12 will remain on my computer as will FSX, just to fly the good old classic aircraft.

Regards
Nigel.

Have a look at the latest screenshots on flightsimulator.com ... zoom in on the second one down (the river mouth)
The autogen placement on the Vfr tiles looks pretty good to me. Airports will be interesting and that announcement isn’t due until feb.
Apparently it’s not a subscription model, unless you want to get it on Microsoft Game Pass, but that’s optional.
