Photos from Brooklands, Dec 19
Visited Brooklands just before the New Year. First time I had been in the rebuilt and relocated Wellington hangar and the flight shed.
Barbara Cartland room in the Clubhouse
Clerk of the Course's office in the Clubhouse
Red arrow marks the first office of my engineering career, Block 72 at Whetstone
This bus was in better condition when Dave B photographed it for me when I was trying to build 1966 Heathrow around 10 years ago.
Peter McL's old office. What struck me was how much you must have had to look down at the dark cockpit at the switches and instruments and then back up at the bright surroundings
Scaffolding around the Vanguard - it seems to be being repainted
The Viscount seems to have had a partial repaint to the slightly earlier BAF titles

Toby thanks .
Phwoar !!!! yellow 1969ish Lotus Elan S4 ..... Is it yours ? 'Cos it's 'bootiful . Proper Normal for Naarfick [ Hethel built ] .
Peter McL's matt black Hunter cockpit , I always wondered why as it's a day fighter . And even today clambering into CA's Chippy , I wonder why matt black ? 'Cos it's a coalhole looking down and cannot easily see the knobs , levers , and switches etc. Worse than an MGB , whereas the Lotus was much better ... Apart from it's ability to catch fire [ S3] .

Matt black....possibly because the numerals & needles contrast better? I think I might have got the 'leans' in a F6 with nothing in front of you to reference ones position in space which I did not get in a T7.
Mind you TSR2 was grey & I must admit that the Russian cockpit colours look nice.

No, no, belonged to a volunteer I think. There was a placard in the window to explain, and remind you not to touch or attempt to get in it! I don't even live in the UK, accordingly I own no UK reg'd car. I drive an MG

Toby , was there a ''B'' in one of your swiss 'fotos' ? Is that yours ? 2 'B's were longer lasting than the Lotus S3 , they don't burn.
Must be great in the Swiss summer with the hood down . Might need a second fan to keep warm in a top-down winter 'tho .

Dev one , a black on black A/H will be harder than a Blue sky , Brown ground one . In most jets you're always Instrument flying , because as you say ; there's not enough dashboard ,cowling , nose, wing to see to give an attitude indication . A nice 73/A320/Trident/Tristar grey blue is good . always hated the Boeing brown in 75,76,744s. Yeuk.
Our Condor has a black crackle finish panel like an MGB , but inside is varnish golden . So not so diff to see down .
The Chippy coalhole looks like the Hunter in black all over , and finding things is diff. as any light is killed . Think Tigermoth is pale green thus also easier .
