Can't remember what Fairoaks Tiger were, probably black, with green primer structure, but my fathers Proctor was black, with the standard shock mounted instruments mounted on a black crackle finish panel. The outer instruments on a matt black background. Off the instrument panel, the roof covering was a nice light blue grey cloth, with red leather side panels & seats. Floor carpet was red also.

I worked at Fairoaks in 1960's, and the Tigers were silver with a green lightning flash along the fuselage. Letters and writing in green also. We had two Chippies in the same colours.

Must have been after March 1960 then, that was my last recorded flight from Fairoaks in the Auster Alpha IGU, When did the Winco retire? he checked me on my licence & again in the Plus D conversion.
In the 70's my father 'Buster Paine' worked for Mann & as a solo using Mann's Hangar. A Mr graham was the chief?
