F-35 latest
President Trump is quoted as saying:
"It's a certain fighter jet, I won't tell you which, but it happens to be the F-35.
"We make parts for this jet all over the world, we make them in Turkey, we make them here, we make them there. The problem is if we have a problem with a country, you can't make the jet.
"We get parts from all over the place, it's so crazy. We should make everything in the United States. We're doing it because I'm changing all those policies."
Australia is concerned, as we have contracts worth more than a few dollars.
If you should doubt that these were his words, the proof is in his first line.

I cannot see him pulling the plug on such an imprtant country, they are one of the CANAUSUKUS members together with New Zealand.
Just too vital. He blows hot and cold anyway.

Here's an article which backs up what Trump is saying. I would take anything he says about the F-35 with a very large grain of salt.

Having watched a documentary on the F35 with British Pilots' being trained in the States it took me somewhat by surprise when the pilot under instruction had to re-boot the computer because the computer failed to log him in.
Maybe we are putting too much faith in software for aviation!!

By all accounts the non US version get the
'bundled' 'lite' version of Windows10 (or whatever they call it) to run the aeroplane, US versions get the fully featured software.

Good find, Joe!
Re: F-35 latest
Don't laugh. The wipers on my Mercedes SUV stopped working a few days ago so I switched off the ignition and then removed the key.
Key back in, ignition on and hey presto wipers work!
Guess this must be the motoring equivalent of ctrl alt delete.

Driving along quite happily then when I braked for the traffic lights could feel that the nearside were operating but the off side were not fully engaging just by the way the car behaved. Stopped a little further down the road and decided that this called for immediate action, I had thoughts that this could be related to the on-board management system so shut the car down........... waited............. ignition on......... engine started and all was OK with the brakes from then on. Even a trip to the dealership, they could find nothing wrong.
Now I know why they call them technicians and not mechanics as all they have to do is plug in the diagnostics and it tells them what to do if a fault is found!!
