Thank you Aharon a great video indeed, pity there were no engine sounds to go with it.

Fantastic find Aharon! Love it. A lot seems to be shot at Hatfield, but first BEA Trident 3 take off looks like it may have been shot somewhere else (There is a Whirlwind on parked up, possibly at an air show?)

I'm curious if anyone can identify the airfield at 3:30... I'm pretty sure its Thurleigh (RAE Bedford) RW 27. I know BLU was based there and the Trident Autoland was tested there.

Great video! Thanks for posting this, Aharon. Looks like the camera ship in this shot might be a Dove. :)

Well spotted Brian! I was wondering about the high AOA on the trident in those clips, and that would certainly explain it

   That poor Trident pilot looks like he's hanging on a stall trying to fly (clean) in formation with the Dove.

I once watched a T3 take off at night, still quite hot weather, it was obviously well loaded and the boost engine running, looked like it was on reheat with the red glow from the boost exhaust.

Old pilots never die, they just run out of runway.

Brilliant video, only just got round to viewing it. Now why is it that during the Tridents' lifespan we took it for granted but now if there ever was a chance of one flying again it would produce a great deal of interest and excitement. Or alternately, if a Trident could only be allowed fast taxis runs that would be much better. :excited:

Nigel.

Maybe a fast taxi run with Peter at the controls?

That would be exciting...I would probably go off the far end of the runway in a trance!
