New Microsoft Edge.
Just had a Windows 10 update then found that they have created a new Microsoft Edge, too many things to mention in the new Microsoft Edge but one is that it will warn when accessing sites known to be at risk and also block.
There appears to be a much improved interface as well where when setting up you can import all bookmarks into this new platform but just be aware that it can save your payment info on purchases see below in italics, I have switched this off which can be done in the settings menu.
Save and fill payment info
Offer to save cards and automatically fill out payment details
Cards you've saved on this device
Fill in your payment info with one click
You'll see saved payment info here
I have switched to using Microsoft Edge from Google and see how it runs and more so for any suspicious sites security wise. If any-one else has moved across would welcome their comments especially those who are computer savvy like......Ben!
Regards
Nigel.

Re: New Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft always seem to be behind to me so I'd be hard pushed to come away from Chrome. I also rely a lot of how Chrome is synced between my phone, PC and laptop.
A bird in the hand will probably sh!t on your wrist.
Re: New Microsoft Edge.
The new edge is actually a skinned version of Chromium.
I think its a step backwards as some of the biggest security vulnerabilities are Chrome plugins. These will work on the new Edge (as well as Chrome / Chromium), but are also a security nightmare to manage in a business. I've been using it for a few months without issue and it syncs between all of my PC's and Phone and gives me the option of a work profile and a personal one.

Re: New Microsoft Edge.
I did have Google but after a few minutes using Microsoft Edge I thought I would run it for a few weeks as it does seem to be quicker loading pages.

So basically Ben it does have its' faults? Would I be best to go back to Google?I think its a step backwards as some of the biggest security vulnerabilities are Chrome plugins.

Re: New Microsoft Edge.
Anyone know if it works with Windows 8.1?
I'm still using IE 11 and slowly migrating to Google Chrome, but keep getting reminders on trying MS Edge.

I'll stick with Firefox

It works with 8.1. I'm using it right now, but not completely at ease with it.
Re: New Microsoft Edge.
It’s the same as Chrome, only without all your information being sent to google, it goes to Microsoft instead, but in terms of performance, Chrome and new edge are almost identical.
Firefox is a better alternative if you don’t like the new edge imho, but it’s personal preference.

Re: New Microsoft Edge.
Thanks Ben, think I might give Firefox a try then but from what I have found is that presently Edge seems to be a lot faster.
