Mothball fleet - Trident 2

Post by blanston12 »

Hi Flyers.

As I am sure you are aware I have been slowly moving many of our excess planes to Kemble to join our mothball fleet. I made up a plan for how many to move and have been keeping track of it in this google sheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

I was thinking about how do we want to base our Trident 2 fleet. Right now we have 18 in the UK (10 active and 8 mothballed), 1 in Cyprus, 2 in Pakistan and 7 in China and I was hoping to get the active fleet down to 6-8 total. I was thinking we leave 4-6 active in the UK and 2 in China, if someone wants to fly in Pakistan they can always fly there from those bases. Or maybe we leave one in Pakistan and reduce the UK fleet by one. Any ideas?

Does anyone fly them in China?
How about 1 China, 1 Pakistan, 1 Cyprus and 4 in the UK?

I just checked and there are over 100 Trident 2 routes in China but only 9 that originate in Pakistan

There are 19 flights that originate in Nicosia but the reason I did not suggest leaving one in Cyprus is that there is a direct flight to there from EGLL. I would like to have them not so dispersed so that when they need maintenance they are close to a maintenance centre and if someone wants to fly one while one is being maintained there is another available. Looking at the flights there does appear to be more activity on the china routes than pakistan or cyprus but they all have been used this year.

But having said that I don't have an issue leaving one in Cyprus and Pakistan so how about

2 China, 1 Pakistan, 1 Cyprus and 4 in the UK?

Sounds like a sensible plan.

Sadly with my lack of FSX at the moment my Trident days are over unless we get one for X-plane or MSFS!
Cheers
