Re: Bitzer project
I'm guessing the engine is a Menasco Pirate & the aircraft possibly a Ryan ST?

There's no objection to checking out images, George. The thing that killed "Observer's badge" was a tool that let the entire power of the internet search for matching pictures; it was possible to find the picture, and give a raft of similar images to choose from, inside a few seconds. About as much fun as filling in a crossword from the answer page.

Messerschmitt bF108 - I think Keith would have picked up any Percivals.

I don't know where to go - my trail so far has come to a dead end! I still think its got a 4 cyl inverted RH tractor engine, possibly a retractable U/C, & a cabin type cockpit, so a monoplane which in some respects looks very familiar....I don't think therefore a Me 108 - at least with an Argus fitted.

That’s what’s driving me nuts Keith, the front of the cockpit looks a bit 108, but the engine is completely different.
Ben.

If Alan doesn't mind me tagging along, I'll go for a Bücker Bü 181E Bestmann, too. I think it might have been at Shuttleworth once upon a time with a British registration, G-GLSU. Perhaps that's where this rebuild was taking place?

Allan, OK you win, but technically I think its a Zlin 381 with that engine. Have only found that because of your Bestmann ident.
