Re: Bitzer project
Mike can you not impose a gagging order on Mrs A while you are dealing with these important matters? I’m sure she won't mind.
If you do, let us know how you get on EricT

Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!
Re: Bitzer project
Could you type with broken arms Mike?

Re: Bitzer project
Thanks for your understanding, and jokes, folks.
Well, I'm onto a second page for recording the 20-03 replies.
No new ones today, so I'll give the usual 24 hour notice of results tomorrow.

Re: Bitzer project
Here she is, in glorious black and white from the recognition manual:
Here's some extra detail:
The transparent nose cone wasn't clearly shown in the 5 pics, the windows seem to have been a bit hit and miss,
further, the B-47A retained the transparency anyway.
The K-4A used a periscopic bombsight fitted into the tip of the nose of the aircraft, with the transparent plexiglas nose cone of the XB-47 and B-47A replaced by a metal nose cone. There were four small windows on the left side of the nose and two on the right. Another visible change from the earlier models was that the B-47B had a tailfin with a squared-off top, instead of a rounded top as with its predecessors.
A final change in the B-47E was that most of the windows in the nose were deleted, with only one left on each side. However, many pictures of B-47Es show them with the full set of windows used on the B-47B. Whether the number of windows varied through B-47E production, or whether these were B-47Bs updated to B-47E specification is unclear.
Wow, we had a full squadron of correct entries this time:
Brian (Fly Texas), Kevin Farnell, Keith (Dev One), Eric (Tomliner), Mick (woody901),EDIT ADD IN PeteP, Simon (simondix), Ben (TSR2), Pete (MilesMan), Brian (Spot), Pete (Motormouse), Den (511Flyer), PaulK, Joe (blanston12), JohnD, Brian Franklin, AllanL.
Gentlemen, you make up the diamond recipients group....
Now, Christopher Storey gets a gold for his amended entry....
The sharper-eyed among you specified that it was the XB-47 rather than the B-47. For that, the following score a bonus star:
Brian (Fly Texas), Ben (TSR2), Pete (MilesMan), JohnD....
Nev's Birthday today, so you'll have to wait for the next challenge.

Re: Bitzer project
Ah, my turn to get left off the diamond list this time - I guess SWMBO must have been at it again!

Re: Bitzer project
I knew I should have counted them again
Sorry, Pete, I've edited you in place between Mick and Simon.
Re: Bitzer project
