Website Woes

Post by adysmith »

Hi Guys (and gals?)

Recently the VA front page has been playing up, frequently all the links for Statistics, Routes, Ratings etc. are missing, together with the "latest forum activity" and the bit at the bottom regarding the VA section of the Forum.

This happens on 5 different devices and a total of seven browsers.

Any ideas?

Ady

Its also failing to show all available flights. for instance, I searched on the routes tab for all VC10/VC15 flights from all EG airports and it only showed 10 for the VC10 only. I had to search the FSairlines site for the full list.
A search for Viscount flights only gives a hit of 22 routes. :dunno:

Hi Chaps,

Latest forum activity was fixed weeks ago (more by accident than design tbh)

There are definitely issues with the php used t o query the VA routes etc. Its not something I have any expertise in as it was DM who set this up back in the day. I'm trying to find someone who can help.

I've had nothing but trouble with Chrome the last few days. Page loads then goes blank. Pulled the router in and out Messed with the settings. I am now in the caravan and using the sites WiFi and it's still the same. Just deleted all the history (about 3 years worth) Working OK at the moment🤞

Edit. Nope still doing it :dunno:

Its a problem with the site Dale, not your browser. Its to do with the code that DM wrote to query the database being written in an old version of PHP which isn't compatible with the current version.
