As long as there's enough beer and plenty of bar snacks, I don't see it as much of a hardship.

What a dreadful ordeal. Similar happened to me at The Plume of Feathers in Princetown on Dartmoor. Sunday night was folk music night, and snow was forecast, so I think we went up there in the hope of being cut off. Got back to Plymouth 36 hours later

Britain's highest pub is only 1,732ft above sea level? I would have though there would be some in the highlands that would be above that.
It does sound like a good time was had by all.

I think it’s described as England’s highest pub rather than Britain’s. Anyway they must have thought they’d died and gone to heaven! EricT

Or at least 1,732ft closer to it Eric.
Re: Stuck in a pub for three nights!
I was stuck in a pub for 5years. Never had a day off in all that time. Many people dream of owning a country pub, but the reality is somewhat different.
Sold it at a good profit, and was glad to wave it goodbye. However, it remained our local for another 15 years before we moved back to Surrey.

Ah, but in the highlands there are valleys in between, and that's where the pubs are.blanston12 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 16:30Britain's highest pub is only 1,732ft above sea level? I would have though there would be some in the highlands that would be above that.
