For me....Not worth the costs regardless of speed!!

Post by Nigel H-J »

Starlink, a broadband company from Elon Musk.

Satellite dish and router for £495 then £89 a month for unlimited data, at speeds typically between 150 and 250 Mbps.

I wouldn’t give mr musk the steam of my….

I dislike him intensely. He’s like a bad musk. Something to be avoided.

I’d there any sign of City Fibre coming to your area Nigel?
A friend of mine recently got her bill fromVirgin Media which had gone from £38 to £52.

She told them she was switching to Vodafone £19.99 and they reduced her tariff to £20 for 12 months.

Never ever pay full price for either Virgin or Sky. They often tempt people in with deals for 12 or 18 months and then at the end of the contract hike the prices right up. What they don't say is that they'll honour the "new customer" deals for everyone. Saved my girlfriend £35 a month with Sky recently by ringing them and haggling a bit.

And my opinion on Musk sounds similar to yours Ben...

I'm with Virgin, at £33 per month. That was only for my 18 months though, and it goes up to £50 next month. There's a way of haggling and keeping it cheaper ?

Yes Paul,

Call them before it starts, but be prepared for the long haul on the phone. Tell them you’re going to full fibre with whoever (do some research) or if there isn’t full fibre locally, tell them you’re going all you can eat 5G (almost 1Gb speed) they don’t really understand 5G. An unlimited 5G SIM card from Voxi for example is about £30

They’ll start asking you about number of people and devices etc to try and justify you staying, but be adamant you’re leaving until you get a fair price.

Hi Ben, :hello: I can't agree with you more regarding Elon Musk, I just wish that some-one would challenge his requirement to have a 'Facey Bog' account just to run his Quest 2.

The only reason I got the Quest 2 is that for the price it is very good and enjoy using it but as for the need to have a Face Book Account is only so that he can earn even more money from it!!

In fact I have my name hidden and do not use 'Facey Bog' at all, some people actually enjoy using it but I have no intention of using it whatsoever.

As for City Fibre I went onto their website and put in my post-code........They have no plans presently to put it in my area.

So will continue to use my present provider until they start increasing prices.

Regards
Nigel.

Think you're getting mixed up with Mark Zuckerberg, Nigel. Elon is the Tesla and Rocket guy. Wouldn't mind being a few Bob behind any of them though. :agree:
