Chasing the Mac
Not to detract from Paul's excellent RETURN OF THE MAC I've been promising I'd "Follow" him while testing the Hunter... "Hunting" him down if you will.
Unfortunately I had a couple (37) false starts as I started to have some CTD issues which took weeks to get to the bottom of (power saving on USB ports) before I finally completed the first leg last night. You'll notice some different times of day (and aircraft versions below) as I didn't want to risk taking screenshots last night until near the end, so some of the early screen shots are from some of the previous 37 attempts.
So after much... trial and error, and with working TACAN... and with a (currently) incredibly efficient Avon, I finally made it to Marseille... (although I nearly landed at the wrong airport (second last shot)

Re: Chasing the Mac
Great shots, Ben! You're going to have to get a move on if you want to catch up with Paul to have a curry in India. Maybe Thailand would be more realistic.

Gah! There's a Hunter on my six!
Great pics, Ben. Are you going to do the whole trip ? If so, good luck getting into Newcastle Waters in a Hunter. Meanwhile, my tail-end charlie will be keeping an eye out.
Kevin, yes, still in India, though I'm now in Allahabad ( pictures to post tomorrow ).

Re: Chasing the Mac
Thats the plan Paul. Dave had been working on the TACAN and I didn’t want to set off until that was ready. Unfortunately it coincided with CTD’s while going through France, and it seemed as if it was to do with sound or possibly the radios which seemed to tie in with the TACAN being added. However Dave wasn’t having any problems, and I didn’t have the problem in the Hawk.
I’ve no idea why it was happening with the hunter and not the Hawk, but changing the PC power plan appears to have fixed it. Fortunately for me, he’s still working on the fuel flow, so at the moment she’s very range friendly

Dave G - you've got TACAN working ?? If so, would some sort of mod be possible so that any aircraft could use it ? A config edit or something, maybe. You'd be MSFS Man of the Year if that could be done.

Re: Chasing the Mac
No, sorry, it has to be coded in the model. You can enable TACANs in the [RADIOS] section of the systems.cfg, but without the code in the model it's useless. It's not even in the SDK yet!

Re: Chasing the Mac
Ah okay - just a thought. Well done on getting it enabled in the Hunter, though.
Re: Chasing the Mac
So given that Paul is off again, I figured I better get my skates on. Two legs tonight. The first from Marseille to Rome, and I thought we do something a little differently and go in the dark... Which was interesting when starting from cold and dark.
Rome to Athens was a little easier with sunlight

Great screen shots Ben especially the one with the sun rising.
