Thanks for that link Brian. It was interesting Amazing kills the German aces had against the Soviets. Were the Germans that good or the Ruskis so poor :dunno:

Thanks for the HU, Brian. Very interesting.

By the way, do you ever watch Ed Nash's YT channel ? He covers a range of military topics, including some very obscure aircraft. He was a sniper, fighting alongside the Kurds against Islamic State.

I've never seen Ed's YT channel. He definitely has many interesting looking videos. Just finished watching 'Don’t Put Artillery Shells Up Your Butt!' I couldn't help but to subscribe to his channel. ;) Thanks for the HU, Paul!

I know that with British and American pilots, after so many missions pilots were sent back to be instructors while German and Japanese were kept in the front line until the end, I am not sure what the Russians did.

Even if given a choice I can see the pilots on both sides wanting to do that. British and American aces could go back train new pilots and see that those pilots were going out and winning the war and be content, new German and Japanese pilots were not winning and in the case of Japanese pilots getting shot down in droves, in those conditions I can't see an experienced Axis pilot being content training, they would want to get out and make a difference.
