I'm old enough to remember Fyfe Robertson.

Great video Paul and just loved the short video depicting BEA's Heron. There is a Heron at Newark Museum and I went inside it after being given permission and was surprised at how narrow the aisle was also not forgetting the cockpit. Whilst there taking some pictures for Dave of the cockpit side views I actually met a retired pilot who flew that very aircraft, we had an interesting talk and he told me that when a car manufacturer in Britain went on strike (as they always did in those days) he was flying aircraft spares from France back to England after removing the seats but due to the room available, not many parts were taken!!

Regards
Nigel.

Thanks for posting this, Paul. :) What a wonderful island. Living on 'island time' would suit me just fine. ;)

Brian, when I retired I did think about moving up to the western isles or maybe Orkney; looking at property prices, locations etc. I spent quite some time up there between 2005/6 and loved it. Of course, I'm happy where I am now, but Scotland over all appeals to me greatly. My elder daughter loves Edinburgh and Orkney. :)

Orkney would be wonderful. Waking up and enjoying your morning coffee while looking out at the sea. Maybe take the dog for a walk along the beach. Ahhhhh...that would be nice. :)

Haha, good old Fyfe!
I remember an occasion at Brands, in the 1960s, where Jack Brabham (later Sir) blew an engine in spectacular fashion - there was smoke and shrapnel and a trail of oil and debris all down the track in front of the main stand. So FR went down to pits for some deep background.
FR hello Jack, I see you're out of the race - can you tell us what happened?
JB Ignition failure, Fyfe.
FR Ignition failure !! ???
JB Yeah, Fyfe, a conrod came through the block and cut the main lead from the battery....
