  The least Pete could have done was to be on the boat, drinking Gin, and offering slurred words of support for Christine. ;)

Wow, that's a lot of swimming.. I'm having a stroke just thinking about it.

I should think the Queen herself would like to meet your wife Pete.
Congratulations! Christine!!

But I think that the video posted by PeteP answers your question.

I did that on her solo Channel attempt, Brian but never again! Shortly after we set off at crack of sparrow, the weather, which had been forecast on the limits for the swim, took a turn for the worse, the wind got up and the sea became quite rough so I spent the next 15 hours being seasick. It came as quite a shock as I'd never really suffered from any form of motion sickness but because of the sea state, we were down to about 1 kt at times causing the little pilot boat we were on to roll left and right at the same time as dipping and rising - very uncomfortable corkscrewing motion and after 15 hours of that, my career as one of Chris's boat support crew came to an end.
