A launch date is set for Friday September 2 at 12:48 EDT. (1648 GMT)
A statement from launch officials are giving it a better than zero chance of liftoff.

I think that allusion was that the weather Friday is looking pretty questionable (something like 80% chance of violation of weather constraints, versus the 20% yesterday). So, even if they're able to fix the problem on the pad after their data review this morning, the chances of actually launching Friday are probably pretty slim. Which means the best chance is probably Monday (which if they need to roll-back to the VAB to fix it is actually still achievable). After Monday, it'll be (I believe) mid-October before they can try again.

Well there goes the "lightning never strikes twice in the same place" theory.


You know Brian, you can't trust the weather forecast in Florida... much.

For instance, last Monday the meteorologist forecasted little to no rain on Monday, increasing rain chances Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday Friday there would be lots of rain ... pretty much a washout for outdoor activities.
However it didn't rain Thursday and Friday

So now that they are calling for high chances of rain this Friday, there actually might be a better than zero chance of liftoff.

There have been some leakage of hydrogen while filling the tanks. Launch crews reseated the connection twice and are continuing to fill the tank.
Also, some cracks in the foam insulation have been detected but have been deemed an acceptable risk.

The weather forecast is favorable.. more so to wards the latter 2 hour window.

White knuckles, fingers crossed.

Launch scrubbed again. I did a quick Google on the characteristics of the goddess Artemis. I've read that she has a "Choleric temper" and a "Lack of mercy or sympathy, especially for men".
