Sad cat news

Post by Airspeed »

This morning, our cat "Flint", who had slept on the bed all night, suddenly stood up and jumped off.
He hit the floor crumpled, and apart from slight evidence of him breathing, to all intents, he appeared dead.
Took him to the vet, who said that it was probably a snake bite from yesterday. Apparently, it's fairly common for the animal to sleep for some time, then the venom paralyses them. Unfortunately we had to euthanise our little pal.

Mike,

Sorry to hear that news. We do get attached to the furry rulers of households.

SWMBO used to complain that I spoke more to the kids hamsters than her when they had pets. It didn't help when I pointed out they were cuter and only bit occassionally (the hamsters - not the kids, they can be as irritating as their mother). :worried: :OB: :hide:

Sad news, Mike. I've never owned a cat or dog, but I know that losing them is painful.

So sorry to hear of this Mike, losing a pet is losing a member of the family, maybe one day you will have another?

Many say that when you lose a pet buy another but when we lost Tara a Belgian Shepherd, we felt that nothing could replace her, I just have her lead in my drawer.

Regards
Nigel.

Sorry to hear your news. It is very sad. They are family. Lost one of my cats and my old dog in the last month and it never gets easier despite how many times you go through it. My Dad gave me a bit of advice and it does help. Get the photos out and remember the good times.

Thanks for these latest messages.
Flint was very much an indoor cat, constantly talking and wanting physical contact; makes his absence very noticeable.
We will get over it. Sharing with my on line friends has been a comfort ;)
