On route to Edinburgh

Post by Nigel H-J »

In the 146. Spent a few hours watching how to use the HS146 on programming the FMC and although have not yet studied the whole FMC procedure certainly got the SID from Heathrow and arrival procedure to Edinburgh sorted, much prefer VOR to VOR however, must move on with the times I guess!! 8)

Nice shot Nigel  The fmc is a doddle once you get used to it, and there's similarity between
the different types. So you learn one and any others quickly follow. I spent some time a few years back flying online, where you need to file, and fly a present day flight plan. Bit of a learning curve at the time, but could do it in my sleep now. Most, if not all flight planners are geared towards using way points rather than vor vor
Shout out if you need any tips.

Don't forget the FMC in the 146 is a temporary version based on the Working Title FMC used in the default CJ4, and is due to be replaced by a more accurate for type UNC soon, so it's probably not worth investing too much time learning it! Whether they'll keep the FMC as an option, I don't know.

Beauty and smoothness in every aspect; it ought to even be part of some promotional material!
