Payware Aircraft

Post by Nigel H-J »

Still working on settings i.e. aircraft controls and radio selections in MS2024 and tried one flight from Duxford then forgot to take piccies for Paul k but did remember to taxis towards hanger doors which opened nicely.

However, I came across a video on YouTube that covered some pay-ware aircraft such as PMDG and not good news in that they are struggling to make their aircraft compatible, Just Flight also wrote on their site as MS2020 developers did not allow them to have access they too are trying to get everything sorted and up to date.

My thinking is why has MS not allowed developers access so that the whole community can enjoy the new sim?

Meantime, I have gone back to MS2020 until JF, PMDG. plus other software developers are able to get their planes working.

Here's the video that first covers free-ware sceneries then at 2mins 20 seconds talks about Pay-ware Aircraft.

Hi Nigel, JF have the 146 and RJ working in the new sim already (they posted some piccies last week) just need to make sure MS don't change anything in the next update. The bulk of the issue was around the licensing which needs updating in the JF installer to account for the new sim so it should be soon. I know LNM (and others) are facing real challenges because everything that is now streamed is encrypted, so the base sim data cannot be read outside of the sim. Very early days, but that really needs to change.

Nigel, thanks for the info on Duxford. Glad to hear all the gates and hangar doors still work. I'm still following the news and reviews concerning MSFS2024 - some good, some discouraging. I'm sure it will all pan out in due course, but my copy of MSFS2020 has had an indefinite stay of execution. ;)

Ben, very many thanks for your update, I don't always get to know what is happening on the web until much later!! Would be a great help if we could have a thread for when certain products have been updated such as aircraft from the likes of JF PMDG and especially Black Box who did a sterling job with the Islanders. Just a thought as I usually miss a few updates.

Paul, I am in the process of trying out some add-on sceneries, reason is that if they do not work, they can easily be removed. Only a couple of airports at a time though.

Regards
Nigel.

Glad to hear you're making progress, Nigel. As far as compatibility is concerned, when I get MSFS2024, I'll switch airports from the MSFS2020 Community folder on and off as I need them. Still waiting to see what happens with JF, Flying Iron and PMDG of course - can't go forward without them.
